FAQ (4)

  • Will Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil make my skin feel greasy?

No. Atopic skin is extremely dry so it will help replenish your skin but will not leave it feeling oily or greasy.

  • Is Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil suitable for babies?

Yes, it is fine for newborn babies or older but use as a bath additive rather than applying directly to their skin.

  • What do you mean by a ‘flare-up’ and `the period between flare-ups’?

Broadly speaking, Atopic Dermatitis has two different phases. A ‘flare-up’ is one of the names used to describe the acute, active phase when skin is at its most irritable. It can feel intensely itchy, you may experience a burning sensation and skin can look dry, red and flaky. Between these acute, flare-up phases are periods of time when your skin is relatively calm and less irritated. This period is also known as the non-acute, non-active or interval phase. The length of each phase varies greatly depending on the individual, but products specially formulated to treat and care for atopic skin − such as those in the Eucerin AtoControl range − can help to extend the period between flare-ups and offer relief during acute flare-ups.

  • Is Atopic Dermatitis the same as Eczema?

Dermatitis and Eczema are the same thing: collective terms for inflammatory changes in the skin. As such, they include many different dermatological diseases. Atopic Eczema and Atopic Dermatitis are also the same thing.

    Eczema
I have recently used the eucerin auto control products (Bath and shower oil, & auto control lotion) on my baby's eczema for the duration of 3 days. Her skin became red and more flaky. She was crying non-stop yesterday after taking her evening bath. Also the inflammation became worse instead of subsiding. Is there anything I did wrong maybe? I am so worried

    Eucerin

Hi Sino.  Thank you for your review.  We are really sorry to hear that these particular products have not suited your baby.  Unfortunately,  if a product is not reacting well on the skin, it may be possible that your baby has a individual sensitivity to one of the ingredients contained in the product and we would therefore recommend that you stop using it to avoid further discomfort on the skin.
