Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleansing Gel is a daily-use, soap-free and fragrance-free formula for gentle, yet effective, cleaning for impure and blemish-prone skin. Containing 6% Ampho-tensides, it eliminates excess sebum (serbboreah) while removing dirt and make-up. Its anti-bacterial properties rid skin of bacteria and inhibit bacterial reproduction and, as it is non-comedogenic, it will not clog pores.
CLINICAL STUDIES
Clinical and dermatological studies prove excellent skin tolerability and efficacy on patients with impure and acne-prone skin. A placebo-controlled study, on ninety 16-46 year old male and female patients with acne vulgaris, was conducted over three-months in 1999. The study was to establish the efficacy of Eucerin DermoPurifyer Cleansing Gel, Toner and Night Care.
Main findings
- The reduction of non-inflammatory lesions and papules was highly significant in all treatment groups.
- Assessment of the disability index revealed that the subjective wellbeing of the subjects increased significantly.

Will the Cleansing Gel remove my make-up completely?
It is a good idea to remove eye make-up, especially the water-resistant type, with a dedicated make-up remover (e.g. Eucerin DermatoClean Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover) before thoroughly cleansing skin with the Cleansing Gel.

Can I use the cleansing gel with an electric cleansing brush?
Yes, of course, but be very careful cleaning your skin in this way if you are undergoing medical acne therapy.

My skin feels tight after cleansing. Is that normal?
Tightness can be a sign of dry skin. If your skin feels tight be sure to thoroughly moisturise after cleansing. Consider using one of the moisturisers in the Eucerin DermoPurifyer range.

Is acne caused by having dirty skin?
This is a common myth but it’s not true. It is, however, important to choose products that have been specially formulated for blemish- and acne-prone skin – mild but effective cleansing gels are much more suitable than harsh soap-based alternatives.

Is acne genetic?
A genetic predisposition certainly counts. If both parents had acne in their youth there is a greater likelihood that their children will also experience acne.

Thank you for your review. As with any cosmetic product, if you feel that it is a specific product causing discomfort, you should stop using it. We would suggest that you stop using the entire range - then when your skin has recovered, re-introduce the products one at a time over a period of 2 weeks, to gauge which particular product is not suiting your skin. Unfortunately that product would need to be discontinued. We regret that this particular range is not suiting your particular needs.

If you are absolutely sure that one of these products is causing you discomfort or adverse reactions on the skin, we would recommend that you stop using it. However, if you are not sure which product it is, then we would suggest that you stop using all three products. Wait for your skin to recover and then try one at a time over a period of a few weeks, to gauge which particular product is causing the discomfort.
