How it works

B-Resorcinol has been proven to inhibit melanin production (in-vitro).

It fights hyperpigmentation by reducing melanin production. Melanin gives our skin and hair its natural colour. But sun exposure, skin injuries, hormonal changes and some illnesses can lead to an overproduction of melanin in certain areas, causing dark spots, age spots, melasma, freckles, acne scars and other forms of hyperpigmentation. B-Resorcinol decreases melanin production to visibly reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

It’s the key active ingredient in the Eucerin EVEN BRIGHTER range. The Eucerin EVEN BRIGHTER product formulas have been clinically and dermatologically proven to lighten the appearance of hyperpigmentation. With regular use, skin looks visibly brighter and more even giving you a more flawless complexion.

I used eucerin even brighter for 5 years . There was no improvement in my skin
  • Eye Sensitivity
Bought the Eucerine even brighter night cream, and started using it 4 weeks ago, but I couldn’t help but notice that my eyes would get really painful, itchy and swollen at some point but since I have dry eye syndrome so I didn’t think much of it, until I stopped using eucerine even brighter cream 3 weeks down the line, then all those symptoms disappeared. Also I haven’t seen much of a difference on my skin either, my dark marks aren’t exactly reduced.

    Hi Tee,

Thank you for your Review.  It is always advisable when using a facial product, to avoid the eye area which traditionally is more sensitive than the rest of the face.  We would recommend using the product only up to the cheek bone and then use an Eye Cream specifically suited for use around the eyes (e.g. Hyaluron Filler Eye Cream).  For more severe hyper-pigmentation, may we perhaps suggest that you try the Even Pigment Perfector range which contains a ground-breaking ingredient, Thiamidol, which gets to the root of the hyper-pigmentation.  It is extremely effective and has been researched over a period of 10 years by our R&D department in Hamburg, Germany.  For more information relating to the range, please take a moment to read the information contained on our web-site using the following link:  https://www.eucerin.co.za/specials/uncover-even-pigment.

  • Eyes sensitivity
Hi. I have been using the Even brighter night cream for a few weeks now but it gives my eyes so much irritations to the point the optometrist recommended I discontinue using the product altogether, because even after eye drops the itchiness goes away briefly.

    Hi Angie,

We are really sorry to hear that this product does not appear to be suiting your skin type. It should perhaps be borne in mind that the Night Cream should not be used near the eye area, but only as far as the cheek bone. We really appreciate your interest in the brand and for taking the trouble to post your Review.

    Many thanks,

    Eucerin ZA
