The pigment melanin is produced by melanocytes that provides colour to skin and is our body’s own natural UV-protection. Yet increased melanin production and uneven distribution in our skin can cause age spots to occur. Many women start noticing age spots appearing naturally on their hands from the age of 50 onwards, commonly as result of accumulated sun exposure or due to their skin’s melanin formation type.

Eucerin’s innovative blend of both high and low molecular Hyaluronic Acid visibly plumps deep wrinkles works alongside Arctiin, an active proven to accelerate collagen renewal in skin cells. It also contains Thiamidol, an effective and patented ingredient that acts at the root cause of hyperpigmentation by reducing melanin production. It is clinically and dermatologically proven to reduce dark spots and prevent their re-appearance. First results are visible after two weeks and improve continuously with regular use.

Thiamidol
Thiamidol is a patented ingredient, known to fight hyperpigmentation acting at its root cause. It works by inhibiting the human tyrosinase, the key enzyme in melanin production. Hyperpigmentation can be the result of different causes, e.g. sun-induced pigment spots, post-acne marks or age spots. Key benefits are:
- Reduction of Hyperpigmentation: By effectively inhibiting tyrosinase, Thiamidol decreases melanin synthesis, leading to a visible reduction in dark spots and an even skin tone.
- Works on all skin types: Thiamidol is dermatologically tested and suitable for all skin types, including dry, oily, combination, normal and sensitive skin. It works for skin of any ethnicity or age and thus is effective on all skin types and tones.

You can apply Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler + Elasticity Age Spot Correcting Hand Cream SPF 30 to your hands up to four times a day only as it contains the active ingredient Thiamidol. Avoid contact directly on or near your eyes.
Why do I need a special moisturiser for my hands?
The skin on our hands is more exposed to external aggressors than on any other part of our body. Frequent hand washing means the skin on our hands is often in contact with water, as well as soaps and other chemicals, and subject to temperature changes. A stable barrier function protects us from these external factors and keeps skin hydrated. However, when the skin barrier is impaired, skin may lose moisture and hands can look and feel very dry, red and scaly.
